This summer we joined tech, nonprofit and culinary leaders in the San Francisco Bay area to support local community-building organizations at Facebook’s Summer Food & FanFest.

Live streaming from the event, we instantly connected festival fans to our engineers, families to other attendees and the rest of the world to the crowd at Facebook’s headquarters. On a larger than usual scale, we watched what we enjoy seeing every day--Ohmni making the world a little smaller, connecting people, as they enjoy the moment, whether that moment is a festival concert, family movie night or Saturday dinner.

Throughout the day we were also able to inspire the next generation of engineers, demonstrating how Ohmni works and describing how we build telepresence robots in our labs. Alongside festival beneficiaries, like Project Giving Kids, a nonprofit employing technology to engage children in philanthropy, we showed them the ability of engineering to connect families and build communities.
The success from our festival appearance fueled our excitement to continue connecting and educating our community this summer, as we joined Scott McGrew on NBC11's Press:Here to continue to do what the Facebook Festivals team and we describe as of one our innate abilities, making "fans" wherever we go. For fans wanting to join the Ohmni family, pre-order today, and read our next post about our time on Press:Here.
