The Future Is Us

Although we have a strong belief in our startup’s mission, which is to connect people from anywhere in the world with one click, it always feels better to have someone else give us a strong validation.

This February we received an email from Haya A. Al-Ghanim, the investment director at the Qatar Science & Technology Park in Doha, Qatar: “I am writing to you today because we have been following OhmniLabs with great interest. We believe that your work represents the future of us humans. As it happens, we are hosting an event in partnership with Singularity University later this spring titled 'The Future is Now' and we would like to sponsor your startup to be featured in the 'The Future 30 Pavilion' during the event.”

Both our CEO Thuc Vu and CTO Jared Go flew to Doha earlier this week, along with our Ohmni robot and a robotic arm developed in-house, to attend the conference and to demonstrate our robots in action in front of a community of tech enthusiasts, including entrepreneurs, professionals, academics and investors.

Ohmni: Redefining Teleconference

Recently, Vietnam hosted the biggest blockchain event  in Ho Chi Minh city, called: “Vietnam Blockchain Week.” More than 30 experts from different fields were there to discuss the disruptive potential of blockchain in a wide range of areas, ranging from fintech to e-commerce, supply chains to insurance.

One of the most anticipated panels was “Blockchain future of Vietnam: Forging Goals to Develop the Ecosystem.” The purpose of the panel was to discuss the many challenges the country is facing in the age of blockchain revolution, as well as the many possibilities for Ho Chi Minh city to become the next global blockchain hub.

OhmniLabs’ co-founder and CEO Thuc Vu was honored to be invited as a speaker, together with other panelists, including Robie Vong - Founder of Blockfin Asia, Tran Huu Duc - CEO and Founder of VIISA/FPT Ventures, Loi Luu - CEO and Founder of Kyber Network, and Long Vuong - Founder of Tomochain.

It was an engaging discussion thanks to the brilliant insight of the participants, the great questions from the moderator Cris Tran - the Director of QRC Group, and the uninterrupted connection of Ohmni.

Retracing our Stanford Beginning at the KZSU Innovators Radio Show

A few years ago, our two co-founders Thuc Vu and Jared Go used to be roommates at Stanford, playing online soccer games against each other. Now they are teammates at OhmniLabs creating robots that work on enhancing people’s daiy life, especially the aging community.

Back to where it all began, they appeared at the KZSU Innovators 90.1 FM Radio Show of Stanford with host Tom Dioro, to trace their robotics journey starting from their Stanford’s dorm room.

Ohmni At Content Magazine Pick-up Party 10.1

Our Ohmni just had the chance to interact and show off its coolness with guests at the Content Pick-up Party 10.1 last week.

Content Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine which aims at articulating the innovative and creative culture at Silicon Valley by connecting the people, events, and businesses there. Their networking events and the magazine proved to be a great opportunity for our Ohmni to get exposed to the diverse community in the South Bay. And this is what they had to say about it in the magazine’s latest issue:
